February 2026 Newsletter — Open Season, Save on Membership, Mardi Gras schedule

JH Athletes,

I hope we are all celebrating, enjoying some parades, and squeezing the most out of the Carnival season. Lest we forget, Mobile is the official birthplace of Mardi Gras.

Members made a commendable push in January. Kudos to everyone! Despite some freezing temps, attendance did not dip. That says a lot about your commitment.

I do have a few notes for the gym as we enter mid-February.

After we get through Fat Tuesday, we’re rolling right into the CrossFit Open. Put membership fees back into your pocket with a new referral offer. We’ll be cancelling a couple of classes for Mardi Gras. Plus, we added more equipment.

The 2026 CrossFit Open is Feb. 26–March 16, with three weekly workouts.

Every member should take this opportunity, regardless of their skill level. Its just three (3) workouts over three weeks. JH is hosting dedicated nights where we can complete the prescribed WOD together and cheer each other on.

JH has always viewed the Open as an invaluable opportunity to build camaraderie, benchmark progress, and put training to the test.

Register RIGHT NOW before you leave and forget to do it later. Make sure to mark “JH CrossFit” as your affiliate gym.

Enter a Raffle by Competing

We want as many JH members in the Open as possible. So, let’s sweeten the deal.

Each open competitor who registers and submits scores will be one entry into a weekly raffle for ONE FREE MONTH on their current membership plan.

The workouts are released on the CrossFit Games website on Thursdays, and you have until the next Monday at 7 p.m. CT to enter your score.

  • 26.1: Feb. 26 – March 2

  • 26.2: March 5 – 9

  • 26.3: March 12 – 16

Friday Night Lights

JH CrossFit is hosting Friday Night Lights each week of the Open, where we can all complete the workout together and help score.

  • Heat schedule: TBA (we’ll set it once we see each week’s workout)

  • Snacks + drinks provided

If you’ve never done the Open before, these Friday night sessions are the best way to jump in — structured, supportive, and a lot of fun.

New Time for Performance Mindset Training

Quick reminder: Aryn’s Performance Mindset Sessions are now Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. (right after our partner WOD).

These are short group sessions built around practical tools — focus, confidence, self-talk, emotional control — useful for competitors and non-competitors alike.


Mardi Gras WOD Schedule

Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17

  • Normal classes for morning / mid-day

  • Classes cancelled 3:30, 5:15, and 6:30 p.m.
