Join Performance Mindset Sessions at JH CrossFit

JH CrossFit is partnering with Aryn McDowell to make small-group Performance Mindset Sessions available at the gym.

Aryn is a Mobile native and current sports psychology graduate student at the University of Western States. She works with collegiate athletes in South Alabama’s cheerleading and football programs.

Here are the details:

  • Time: Saturdays at 7:15 a.m. (Beginning Jan. 17, 2026!)

  • Approximately 30–45 minutes

  • Format: Small Group, with opportunities for deeper one-on-ones.

Each Saturday session will explore practical mental performance topics designed to support both training and real-life performance.

It’s really a killer opportunity for JH members, especially as we begin setting our sights on the upcoming CrossFit Open.

Let’s take full advantage of Aryn’s expertise.

What Sessions Will Focus On

There is no performance without mental performance. These sessions will cover topics such as:

  • Attention, control

  • Self-talk and confidence

  • Motivation and consistency

  • Emotional control under stress

Some weeks will feature short presentations with Q&A, while others will be guided discussions, activities, or assessments

Who It’s For

  • Competitors looking for practical insight

  • Athletes interested in continuous improvement

You do not need to be a competitor to attend.

Format & Availability

  • Small-group sessions

  • No sign-ups required, just show up early enough that you’re ready to engage by 7:15 a.m.!
