Monday, May 12, 2025 — JH CrossFit, an elite fitness facility in Mobile, Alabama, announced today its ownership has transitioned from longtime operator John Soutullo to gym members and dedicated athletes Will Beech and Jordan Jones.

The change in ownership follows several months of planning and leadership transition. In early 2025, John appointed Will as General Manager to lead daily operations, and was later instrumental in bringing Will and Jordan together as a strategic match-up to ensure JH CrossFit continues to flourish under trusted, local leadership.

In an announcement to JH members sent after closing May 12, John explained the decision to step away fully from JH CrossFit after nine years of ownership has not been an easy one. His message expressed gratitude and confidence in the future of JH under new ownership.

“What started as a house became a home for thousands. Now, it’s time to pass the torch. The new owners, Will Beech and Jordan Jones, are people I trust deeply. They’re not here to change what made this place special — they’re here to honor it, build on it, and lead it into its next season of life.”

About JH CrossFit

Founded as CrossFit Mobile Midtown and acquired by Soutullo in 2016 as “JH CrossFit,” the gym has grown into a thriving CrossFit community of more than 200 members. Located at 220 Furr Street, JH CrossFit offers a 10,000-square-foot facility with 24/7 member access, scheduled group workouts of the day (WODs), full-strength and conditioning equipment, multiple rig systems, and locker rooms with showers.

“JH” stands for “John’s House,” a nod to Soutullo’s early years of living in an apartment in the gym building.

Meet the New Owners

Will brings years of fitness leadership experience to his new role, including coaching and management at multiple gyms, a degree in Fitness Conditioning from Auburn University, and ongoing service as a firefighter/EMT with the City of Mobile.

“We’re not here to reinvent JH. We’re here to sharpen it,” said Will Beech. “Same heart, higher standard. This place changed my life — now I get to help protect it and grow it for others. Jordan brings clarity, structure, and a long-term vision to everything he does. I’m pumped to be building this with him.”

Jordan, a Managing Partner at Medora Partners and Chairman of the Board for Accel Academy — Alabama’s first public charter school — brings extensive business and community leadership to the team.

What to Expect

Under this new leadership, JH CrossFit plans to maintain its core values and community-first culture while implementing updates to enhance the member experience, including:

  • Remaining a Community-First Environment - The core of what makes JH challenging and fun will continue to develop.

  • Facility and Equipment Upgrades – Solutions are underway to address aging equipment and improve gym layout for better class flow.

  • New Member Onboarding – A structured onboarding system is in development to support new and developing athletes..

  • Platform Consolidation – Beginning in June, JH CrossFit will shift all class scheduling, member management, and programming to Beyond the Whiteboard (BTWB), replacing the current dual-system setup with Wodify.

  • Legacy Events – Core events like Memorial Day Murph, 9/11 Tribute WOD, and seasonal gatherings will continue.

  • Focus on fundamentals - deliver a great product to customers by delivering on the basics: cleanliness, timeliness, leadership and organizational structure.
